The pixmaps in this theme are the same as those of my Escort Duty
theme, so if you have both you can either edit the theme files to
use only one set of pixmaps, or create sym-links, if you are
running low on disk space.
I followed Cap'n Jim's idea of recycling. If you look at the
background at what's behind the ships, you will see that the planet
and the gas cloud are identical.

Captain's Log for USS Enterprise NCC-1701B |

This image was actually created at the same time as Escort Duty,
and was originally going to be released side by side with that pic.
(They share the same background). The main reason I was going to
release both at once was to make a point. A few months earlier, I
had decided to do some Star Trek images for a change of pace, and,
as a result, my e-mail box was full of letters from two distinct
(and sometimes militant) factions - Trekkies, & Star Wars
Fanatics. Each pleading with me to abandon the other.
I briefly flirted with the idea of being all things to all people, and producing two images at once with essentially the same components. Fortunately, I came to my senses before I posted the dual page! I stripped the enterprise B from the page, and only released the Escort Duty image. This image has remained unreleased until now. As a corollary, I solved the dillema a few weeks later. I decided to move the page, create a new layout, and abandoned both topics altogether (well, for the most part). I have since moved on to bigger and better things. -Jim (Cap'n Jim) Varner |
