To: < mike@cs.mun.ca> Subject: Your Story Date: Sat, 31 Aug 2002 14:53:08 -0230 I came across your story on your site, randomly surfing along on a Saturday Afternoon.. > "Speaking from my own experience, one thing I have to say is that > those who think homosexuality is a personal choice are full of shit > and don't know what they are talking about (I guess women feel this > way when men talk about how the pain of child birth > can't be all that bad). " They don't know what they're talking about, but I don't think they're _full_ of shit. They just don't know any better at the moment. Not all people are bigots. Stories like yours open people's eyes. I've had friends go through similar experiences. I find I'm never totally sure of what to say to encourage them to be themselves. I don't understand homosexuality firsthand. I'm always worried that I'll say the wrong thing and offend... I can only show my support in this way: I'm glad you've come to find and accept yourself. I could never think any less of you because of it. I see you as a very strong person to speak for a cause at such personal risk. I hope your friends understand and accept you. I'll surely see you on Thursday, my first day of lectures.
