I found out today that Tejus and Share similar interests in parrots

we both owned parakeets before and bigger parrots

If pets were allowed in res, I would have gotten cockatiels

Yea, I forgot about this page until Jack Harrhy asked me about it.

A lot of things happened. First, Tea Time with Jack, finally?! lets goo?! Yes, a lot of things happened to get it to happen. First time I cancelled it, then jack cancelled it then ripu just got sick and he cancelled it. Nevertheless, it happened!

I also finally graduated :). Yes now I am officially a BS.c (Hons) Computer Science graduate from MUN. It still doesn't feel like it.

Honestly, a lot of things happened and I can't write everything here. I would have loved to keep things updated. Honestly, my life since 2022 until I graduated is the same. New acadmeic year -> go to all classes -> start skipping them mid october -> annual winter depression -> spend summer with family.

Here are few things that I like to look back on.

I got dean's list of science for 2022-2023
I got paton college crest award because I've been volunteering a lot in residence.
With a fantastic team, I was able to win the DO.IT hackathon in 2024. (I have to mention Mitch. He sparked the idea). Check it out here
I was the treasurer, social chair, and finally president of Curtis House over 2 years. It was a lot of work but a lot of fun. (if you are in res, I recommend volunteering)
Remember that 2002 class from above, it kinda defined my career because I started working for Dr. Karteek ever since then and I learned a lot. I really recommend joining DIAG Lab. They work on some cool stuff.
Tejus is still my friend btw
All that and all the little things that happened and I am grateful for :).

What's next?? Well I am currently unemployed and the job hunt isn't really joyful. If you have leads just email me :) (mbalfaqih@mun.ca). But otherwise, I've been working on Civ like game with Godot. I've also been working on advancing my undergrad thesis even further. I really like that project and I don't think I want to leave it at its current state.

I'll try my best to keep updating this more often. Mainly because I enjoyed reading what I wrote in the past.

Hello again! After the last update, I decided to travel back home to visit family and have a little mental reset. But, I am updating today to let you know I've finally landed a job!

While I was away, I was interviewing for Trophi AI. Matter of fact, I started before my last diary input and it took so long. It doesn't matter, I got to go back and spend Ramadan and Eid with my family while waiting.

All in all it was a win!

I hope I'll have a little more organized life with a solid routine instead of the randomness of an unemployed person. I also hope I kill it at this job.

It is 7:30 AM and I should be getting ready to leave soon.

If you are still looking for a job, don't give up! Eventually you will find something that you will like. You just need one interview to stick.
