Abstract:

An interdisciplinary graduate course on high-performance computing, CS-6728, was organized and offered for the first time at MUN in the Winter '96 term. The principal objective of this course was to provide a `hands on' experience in high-performance computing. The course was designed as project-oriented; each of the participating students worked on an individual computational project related to his/her area of research. The organization of the course, the experience and conclusions are discussed in this paper.
