The images above presented were taken during a trip in January 2002.
The images are from Valle de Bravo and Avandaro, small towns in the federal state of Mexico.
Then there are pictures from one of the Monarch butterfly sanctuaries. Monarch buterflies travel between Canada and Mexico during their life span, they die in Mexico, and the next generation heads back to Canada.
Finally, there are pictures from the colonial city of Morelia, in the state of Michoacan. The colonial downtown is large and makes Morelia a very nice city to visit, it is also capital of the state of Michoacan. There are several museums to visit, which inform about the history of the city, its role in the strugle for the first independence and later on, the revolution of Mexico, and the richness of the mix between prehispanic cultures and spanish traditions. Several native tongues and languages are still spoken in Mexico.
