Subject: Linux on a Pressario 710
Dear Michael Rendell,
I found your page on partitioning the hard drive on you Presario 710 and
installing Linux, and wanted to thank you for the information. I have
had a Presario 710 for just under a year now, and have been thinking
about converting it to a dual boot system. I tried once a few months
ago, and as you mention in your web page, when I "restored" the Windows
system using the disks that came with the computer, the Linux partition
was wiped out. In particular I wanted to thank you for the command that
starts the installation, I don't know if I would have figured that out
on my own.
I also wanted to share a tip that you might want to add to your page.
For those users who do not have a working Linux system yet, they can
still transfer the BOOTIMG.BIN file to a floppy using a utility named
RawRiteNT. This usually comes with Slackware Linux distributions, or
can be downloaded from one of the many Slackware mirrors. Here are a
couple of links that I've found:

Thanks again,
Ricardo Salcedo
