Subject: Linux on a Pressario 710

Dear Michael Rendell,

I found your page on partitioning the hard drive on you Presario 710 and 
installing Linux, and wanted to thank you for the information.  I have 
had a Presario 710 for just under a year now, and have been thinking 
about converting it to a dual boot system.  I tried once a few months 
ago, and as you mention in your web page, when I "restored" the Windows 
system using the disks that came with the computer, the Linux partition 
was wiped out.  In particular I wanted to thank you for the command that 
starts the installation, I don't know if I would have figured that out 
on my own.

I also wanted to share a tip that you might want to add to your page. 
 For those users who do not have a working Linux system yet, they can 
still transfer the BOOTIMG.BIN file to a floppy using a utility named 
RawRiteNT.  This usually comes with Slackware Linux distributions, or 
can be downloaded from one of the many Slackware mirrors.  Here are a 
couple of links that I've found:
