Final Fantasy - as the title lies about, this is a series not even near to ending. With the series starting in 1987, in Japan, when it was released for the Famicom (known as the equivalent to the Nintendo Entertainment System), then released state side in 1990, has now reached 12, almost 13 games since then.

As with most stories, religion, even if it's not a dominant thought in the ideas and story, is ever present in the work done in literature. For most people, religion is a set of ideas that being holds, that is ever present and influences out actions, which makes it natural for religious themes and characters to make their way into out stories and art.

To simplify, the games that will be covered on this webpage will be those games that were initially released in the States as original titles, and not as bundle bonuses. Games that the American number clashes with the Japanese titles are denoted with the American number first, then the Japanese number with a j after it. For example "Final Fantasy III / VIj" denotes that the game was released in the States as the third title, but actually was the sixth title in Japanese.
