Few things about me ...

Adrian-1
I am on a sabbatical leave till September 2010.

I have been at Memorial University of Newfoundland since September 1994. My roots are in Upper Silesia, an industrial area in south Poland, with a sizeable German minority population. I finished my high school diploma and Master degree in Germany and I received the Ph.D. degree in US.

My research interests are in the area of Object Oriented Languages, Software Engineering, Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA), Software as a Service (SaaS), Security and Verification. I am looking for good students interested in PhD and Master degrees or Honours projects. My current teaching focus is on object oriented technologies (analysis and design, Java, design patterns).

I am also interested in exploring internationalization strategies for educational institutions. In particular, off-shore program offering, projects with foreign university partners, campus diversification, faculty involvement and curriculum internationalization are some of my favourite topics.

I spend most of my free time with my wife and the kids. My children are fluent in English, German and Hindi. We spend a lot of time travelling between Canada, Germany and India. I enjoy trekking and mountain climbing (highest peak Cotopaxi - 5897 m). I also have a single engine pilot license, but very little opportunities to use it.
