Object-Oriented Approach Towards Simulation

With all the excitement generated over the past several years regarding the potential panacea derived from the creation of reusable software modules, several attempts have been made to modify existing algorithms and implementations so that they adopt a decidedly more object-oriented flavour [13][16][30]. Digital circuit simulation has proven to be no exception to this trend. Unfortunately, as will be demonstrated by this section, such attempts tend to be somewhat naıve in their approach and sometimes amount to nothing more than a translation of the global event queue to the realm of objects.
