Roman Catholic Basilica of St. John the Baptist South(Nickel
Theatre)

The Basilica was designed by an Irish architect named John Jones. The church was built in 1855 thanks to Bishop Fleming, who was responsible its construction. In 1955 the 'church' was raised to the rank of minor Basilica. Because of its location, it was
seen from all over St. John's at the time. Today, this National Historic
Site, is still a landmark that towers above its surronding area and can
be seen with ease from the harbour and many parts of St. John's.
