Walking Tour Help
You may experince problems viewing or using this walking tour of St.
John's. Or maybe you're just confused about some options. If you are, here
are some pointers that should be able to help.
- General:
- Sometimes options in the button bar will not be available to you. These
options will become blurred when not available, and clear when they are.
- If there are multiple views available at a location, the compass rose
will become clear. To view these, just click on either of the compass'
four major directions.
- Some pictures are clickable to give you the chance of 'zooming in' on
certain objects. When you zoom in, in compass will change into a back
button to return you to the main picture.
- The pictures at the four compass directions are only
approximations of that direction.
- Above all, be patient. Pictures can take a while to view.
- Technical:
- Some sites on the tour may have video clips. If you don't
see them, make sure you have the drivers setup and configured in
NetScape. (Note: If you don't hear any audio with the video, there is a
good reason for that - we never included audio with the video.)
- This tour was created and tested using NetScape, with a resolution of
800x600 256 colors. We have briefly tried it also in 1024x768 and
640x480 modes, and it seemed to work fine. We have not, though, tried it in
other web browsers.
- Other:
- If you would like to send a comment to tell us what you liked and don't
liked, what you're screen mode and browsers did to the tour, a problem
that you have found, or just to say hello, drop us a line at: multimedia@cs.mun.ca We you like to
hear from you!
- We encourage other communities to start a walking
tours of your city
also. It is a great way to show people the history and life of you're city.
