How These Pages Were Created

An Intel Smart Video Recorder Pro card was used to create the pictures of the computer and the movies as well. A video camera is also needed.

All you do is use the video camera on something you think would be nice to capture as a picture or as a movie. When you are finished filming, you just plug the video camera into the appropiate inputs on the video board.

Here are some pictures of how to plugin the s-video cable.

Then you use the software that comes with the board to create a movie or a still picture. The software that was used to create the pictures on this site was the Digital Video Producer. It is used in the Windows environment. It takes a little while to figure out how to use the software, but the online help manual has a step-by-step guide on how to do different things, such as record a movie, or save a picture. This help file is very useful.

To make the title headings and touch up some of the pictures, Aldus Photostyler 2.0 was used (Paint Shop Pro is also a good program to use and it is shareware). Aldus Photostyler and Paint Shop Pro use the Windows environment. They allow you to add special effects to pictures, brighten up pictures, enlarge pictures, and so on. They are both useful.

The sound files were made using the Sound Recorder that comes with Microsoft Windows. This program is easy to use. A sound card is also needed.

A knowledge of HTML is needed to write these pages. A good place to look for documentation on how to write HTML would be:

A HTML editor may be needed. These editors make creating HTML pages a bit easier. Here are some sites where there are lists and reviews of where to find HTML editors:

Some of the problems and difficulties in creating this presentation:

Having trouble viewing some images on the document. To overcome this, the background may need to be changed from its default color of gray to some other color (like black).

The size of the multimedia movies were sometimes very large. For longer running movies, this was a problem. The files that were very large (in one case a 20 second movie was 3.5 Megs in size) could not be made any smaller, even by trying to compress the frames of the movie.
